It was a film that showed how success could be mined from a minuscule budget and some clever marketing, and the aesthetic of the film remains novel and bracing. The legacy of "The Blair Witch Project," however, is ultimately positive. Donahue likened the film's success to a tumor or a regrettable facial tattoo.
